Summer To Do

The other night, I was sitting on the beach and witnessed something beautiful (or at least I think it was).

Admittedly, of my favorite things to do at the beach people watch (idk if that’s creepy or not but whatever!!)

There were a ton of plotlines happening - there was a group taking photos, a couple walking hand in hand by the water, an older woman walking her dog, a big group of friends watching the woman walk her dog (asking to pet the dog), a spikeball group, a child playing in the sand.

All these people might see each other again or not, but in this moment, everyone’s enjoying the same sunset. Everyone had the same idea to end their day by the water, on the same strip of beach.

Sometimes I think about how many lives we pass by on the daily. Every person you see has a their own unique storyline they’re actively living. I think it’s a privilege to be able to see just a handful of these stories intersecting for a split moment in time.

It might seem too sentimental, but I think the ideas of timing, fate, and coincidence are so interesting. I feel like I believe in a healthy mix of all of them. Obviously, for instances like the beach evening, those ideas are super dramatic thought processes. But I do I think what I saw was an easy example of how much we exist to something bigger than us. Everyone has different experiences and livelihoods, but there are still simple moments we can share together.

And I think that’s very cool.
